Profile

Master of Applied Linguistics is a graduate program educating scholars from relevant disciplines of language and its use to become applied linguistic scholars related to the fields of language education, literary education, and translation. This study program was established on August 6, 2001 in accordance with the Higher Education Decree of the Higher Education No. 2655 / D / T / 2001 signed by Prof. Dr. Ir. Satryo Soemantri Brodjonegoro and accredited "A" based on BAN-PT Decree No. 1202 / SK / BAN-PT / Akred / M / XII / 2015. This study program offers two awards of Masters of Education (M.Pd) and Masters in Humanities (M.Hum) from its three concentrations of expertise namely foreign language education, translation, and literary education.
This program is consistently researching and developing different elements, forms, and functions of language, its use in different purposes, its teaching and learning as well as its advancement in relation to socio-technological changes. Therefore, various activities are carried out such as focus group discussions, national and international seminars/ conferences, writing camps, and visiting scholars. Thus, graduates of this program do not only have expertise in foreign language education, translation, and literary education, but also the latest knowledge and competencies in applied linguistics skills useful for their career and professionalism.
