Prof. Dr, Julianne Stude conveyed 3 main points, namely the development of literacy, the mechanism for language mastery - interaction problems, and the means to literacy through children's reading. In her discussion, she emphasized the importance of literacy and the efforts to start the literacy from early childhood. This requires the role of parents in building literacy in children in order to facilitate children's literacy experiences through reading, pictures, and literacy culture. In this function, supporting facilities are needed, namely picture book media and effective delivery methods through interaction and communication.

After delivering the material, the activity was continued with a question and answer sessions. The question session took place interactively and students gave various questions. This guest lecture is expected to increase our awareness as prospective educators about the importance of literacy and efforts to build literacy culture in children. (dod / ant)
