HISTORY OF APPLIED LINGUISTICS STUDY PROGRAM

Applied Linguistics Study Program was established on August 6th, 2001 under the Graduate School of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Previously, it was an initiative from a linguistics study group in the Faculty of Languages and Arts, which focused on all studies of language as a system. Further, in its development, the Applied Linguistics Study Program provides three concentrations namely: Foreign Language Education, Literary Education, and Translation. In 2020, Applied Linguistics Study Program was transfered from Graduate School into Faculty of Languages and Arts since it is considered as a monodisicpline program.
