Workshop for Students' Thesis Topics

YOGYAKARTA. On Monday, October 21, 2019, a discussion on students' research topics was held. The workshop was attended by all Applied Linguistics students (Batch 2019). This event started at 10 AM and was opened by the Head of Applied Linguistics Study Program, Prof. Pratomo Widodo. In his introduction, Prof. Pratomo conveyed the purpose of holding the workshop. As for the goal, students as early as possible prepare a thesis as a final project in Applied Linguistics Masters education. With thIS preparation, it is hoped that students can complete their master studies on time.

After the opening and introduction, the event was then continued with the presentation of resource persons related to research topics that could be developed into a thesis. There are two fields discussed in the workshop, namely Linguistics and Literature, and the application of these two fields in the field of language teaching and translation. Ms. Erna Andriyanti, Ph.D. delivered research topics for the field of Linguistics and Dr. Widyastuti Purbani presented topics for literary research.

After the explanation from the resource persons and questions and answers, the event was continued with a group discussion on research titles with the lecturers of the Applied Linguistics Masters Study Program. They are Dr. Else Liliani, Dr. Tadtkiroatun Musfiroh, Dr. Wening Sahayu, Dr. Sufriati Tanjung, Dr. Roswita Lumban Tobing, Dr. Dwiyanto Joko Pranowo, and Dr. Sulis Triyono. By conducting this workshop, it is hoped that students will immediately find research topics for their final project / thesis. (NHG)
