History of Applied Linguistics Study Program UNY

Applied Linguistics Department was established on August 6th, 2001. In the development of Applied Linguistics Department, Graduate School of YSU, it was started from the pure linguistics, which focused on all aspects of language as a system. However, regarding its development, Applied Linguistics Department has had three concentrations now, such as Foreign Language Education, Literary Education, and Translation. Therefore, the visions of Applied Linguistics Study Program are to become a superior, creative, and innovative study program in in Language Education, Literary Education, and Translation based on its applications in rational, transparent, and formal procedures, based on the accountability. In addition, the graduates of Applied Linguistics Department can conduct language learning, literary learning, translation learning, and can be a translator / interpreter. The graduates of Applied Linguistics Department will be a Master of Education (M.Pd.) or Master of Humanities (M.Hum.).
